Sidmouth Fashion Show SS24
Sidmouth, July 12, 2024 - The Harbour Hotel Sidmouth was the place to be on Friday night, as the Sidmouth Fashion Show dazzled attendees with a vibrant mix of fashion, fizz, and fun. Hosted by the local Louise Dress Agency, with a team of creative volunteers including students from local schools and universities. The event saw a glamorous crowd queuing out the door, eager to partake in an evening celebrating the town’s stylish spirit.
The show, which partnered with popular local boutiques Annies of Sidmouth and Pobby and Blue, featured an impressive array of luxury leather accessories, designer mens and women’s wear and boutique clothing. Models floated down the catwalk adorned in luxurious outfits, showcasing everything from Dolce & Gabbana, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen dresses to Prada and Chanel handbags, courtesy of the Louise Dress Agency. Their collection also included an assortment of mens Burberry shirts and coats and a selection of vintage luxury items that captivated the audience.
Pobby and Blue featured a stunning selection of boutique Italian style fashion, presenting quirky and beautiful designs and vibrant colours that perfectly complemented the evening’s high-fashion ambiance. Annies of Sidmouth added the finishing touch with an exquisite range of luxury leather accessories, stylish hats and unique umbrellas for both men and women, highlighting the importance of quality craftsmanship and style.
The event was not just about fashion but also entertainment. The charismatic commentator for the evening, Mike Dibble, kept the audience entertained with his witty banter and insightful style tips. Guests enjoyed canapés, cocktails and laughter, in the luxurious setting of the Harbour Hotel Sidmouth with its sweeping sea views and sparkling bar and ballroom adding to the lively atmosphere that made the night unforgettable.
Beyond the glamour, the Sidmouth Fashion Show had another purpose that Louise McCullin of Louise Dress Agency wanted to create the show for: to support and promote local independent businesses. By featuring these local vendors and their unique offerings, the event demonstrated that Sidmouth can hold its own in the world of fashion and that small businesses such as these can contribute to a towns social scene. It was a celebration of community, creativity, and commerce, proving that style knows no bounds—even in a Devonshire seaside town like Sidmouth.
After the show, attendees had the opportunity to purchase their favourite items at pop-up stalls, ensuring that the fashion show was not just a feast for the eyes but also a boost for local businesses. The event’s success was a testament to the thriving local fashion scene and the enthusiastic support of the community.
With its blend of high-end fashion, local charm, and a dash of humour, the Sidmouth Fashion Show set a high bar for future events, leaving guests eagerly anticipating next year or even next season's edition.
